Chief of Cabinet Secretariat G.Zandanshatar met Paul Maassen, OGP Director for Civil Society Engagement and Shreya Basu, OGP Regional Civil Society Coordinator for Asia Pacific. Experts from the Support Unit of the multilateral initiative Open Government Partnership (OGP) are working in Mongolia on March 19-23.
The Chief of Cabinet Secretariat briefed the experts on the latest developments in Mongolia’s efforts towards open governance including anti-corruption actions, the National Program on Combating Corruption, measures taken to ensure transparency of the extractives sector and the results, and the establishment of a Public-Private Consultative Sub-committee under the Investment Protection Council.
“The Government demands improvement of discipline, reduction of bureaucracy, increase of immediacy and inclusiveness of government functions and upholding of the law on all levels,” remarked G.Zandanshatar.
The subcommittee experts emphasized that member of OGP country's Governmental actions can be open to the public, and the anti-corruption efforts can be implemented, the Government Media and Public Relations Department reported.
